Job Role - Printer & Trainee Colourist 
 

Tell us about you – I’m 25 years old and live near Shrewsbury. I enjoy watching sports, and travelling to cities in different countries. In my spare time I like to try different types of rum, I’ve probably tried over 50 different varieties at this point. My current favourite is Depth Charge Spiced Rum, it’s a dark rum with a citrusy flavour. 
 

Activities / Hobbies – I’m really into my sports. I play tennis weekly and follow lots of different teams in different sports. In English Football I follow Stockport County FC, I used to be a season ticket holder, but finding the time to attend the games was pretty difficult.  I follow the LA Clippers (NBA) so it can be a lot of late nights during the on season for me, and I also follow McLaren in the F1. 
 

Favourite meal to indulge yourself in? – Got to be Sweet and Sour Chicken. Cantonese style, with fried rice and prawn crackers, gotta go all out if you’re having a Chinese. 
 

Favourite Film – This is such a hard question, because I don’t really know. To be honest, I don’t really go out of my way to watch a film twice, except for Tenant, but that was because I didn’t understand it the first time. 


 

About you in the company – I’ve been at The Clever Baggers for just over a year and started out as a print assistant and soon was being trained up as a screen printer. I am now an all-rounder printer, which means I am a screen printer as well as a DTG printer. I am also trained on our pick and pack side of the company where we sell and despatch the stock plain from our website. I’m trusted to carry out maintenance on some of the machinery, to ensure the machines are running smoothly. I am currently being trained as a colourist so in the future I will be mixing the colour inks by hand, as well as obtaining my forklift license. 

 

What do you like best about working for Clever Baggers? – I feel like this is the same answer that everyone gives, but it’s the people, we’re all quite close here and get on really well, makes work more enjoyable, no matter what department you’re working in. 
 

Favourite product? – Well the Studio department gave me the nickname “Big Bag Al” because when I go to them to get the print signed off, they noted that all I seem to print is our larger products, so based on that I would have to say my favourite product is the 65x80cm Black Drawstring Sacks [DS-6580-CTBK].

 

Plain or Printed? –  ️Funnily enough, even though I am mainly a printer, I do prefer the products plain.
