Meet the Team - Managing Director

Name – Darren Davies
Job Role – Managing Director
Tell us about you – I’ve worked for several companies before joining The Clever Baggers, and have been fortunate to travel extensively with work, enjoying some amazing experiences in places probably not likely to visit any other time. My background is in process engineering but have worked for many years in the quality assurance sector. In my spare time I enjoy catching up with friends, getting out when weather permits, and particularly enjoy various water sports. Also enjoy walks on the beach with our dog Millie.
Activities / Hobbies – Travelling (especially to warmer climes), jet skiing, water skiing, anything on water really. Mountain Biking, but have not done that for some time now, need to start again.
Favourite meal to indulge yourself in? – Don’t really have one meal, but I do love BBQ season, especially Cajun spiced dishes.
Favourite Film – As most people say, it’s too difficult to just name one film. The original Star Wars trilogy will always be on my list, along with The Usual Suspects.
About you in the company – I joined the team as Quality Assurance Manager, and after gaining certification to ISO9001, I became more involved in the operational management. I joined the board as Operations Director and in 2019 was appointed to Managing Director.
What do you like best about working for Clever Baggers? – During my time here, we have all worked together to grow the business and have tackled numerous issues over the years. The most impressive element for me is how all staff at every level will step up when needed and do what is required to keep us progressing and improving.
Favourite product? – I think I like the variety of the range rather than any one product, but I was happy when the Bum Bag made a return and was added to the range.
Plain or Printed? – ️This is very much product dependant, and of course design. We have printed some fantastic designs to all of our products, so I would have to say printed, although I’m not sure what I would recreate.
