Meet the Clever Team - Studio

Let's learn more about one of our Studio Art Worker and Embellishment Printers. Find out what role they play in the Clever Baggers Team and what they get up to in their spare time.
Name – Harriet
Job Role – Studio Art Worker and Embellishment Printer. (My job role covers the studio and digital side of printing)
Tell us about you – I am very boring. I am 31, I’ve been married for 5 and a ½ years now, live at home with my husband and my dog who is so cute. I really like movies, and I quite enjoy baking. A little fun fact: my husband and I built our house.
Activities / Hobbies – I like to bake, I haven’t done any in a while, but baking is one thing I really enjoy doing. I also like water colour painting it’s a newer hobby of mine, well when I find the time to actually sit down and paint that is.
Favourite meal to indulge yourself in? – It’s either got to be roast dinner with all the trimmings, and by all the trimmings I mean cabbage and bacon, sausages wrapped in bacon, stuffing, Yorkshire puddings. The whole Sha-Bang. Or a Dirty Mac and Cheese, which is Mac and Cheese with a lot of bacon in it, and leeks and lots of cheese. There’s a trend here I think and its bacon, bacon is the key.
Favourite Film – I hate this question. I have a collection of over 600 DVDs at home so clearly movies are a thing that I love and asking me to pick a favourite is really mean. But if I had to pick, I guess it would be either Shawshank Redemption, I just loved it when I first watched it and I can watch it over and over again, or Mulan from Disney. It’s another film I really enjoy and one I could watch many times.
About you in the company – So I deal with orders as they come in. This is in terms of prepping the artwork ready for printing, and sending proofs out to customers, so they can see the mock-up of what their purchase is going to look like. Once that’s all approved and everything and the customer is happy, I then prepare the artwork, whether that is for the artwork to be used for a screen print or digital print, depending on the print method that’s correct for the product and customer. I am also involved in the 4 different digital printing systems; like cutting the vinyl, working on the smartcolor machine, heat press or the storm printer as the printer on those machines. I also help with the colour matching; this is where we ensure the colour that is being printed is the correct colour the customer has asked for.
What do you like best about working for CleverBaggers? – The people that work here, I find that the manager I get to work with, is the best manager I have ever worked with. The whole team at The Clever Baggers make it a fun place to work, they make it a laugh, and when things go wrong you tend to find that everyone bands together to help get through it.
Favourite product? – I would say the smaller drawstring bags, the 15cmx20cm size. My sister-in-law had them as wedding favour bags, I just think they’re quite versatile in that way and good little gift bags too. If I had to pick a colour, I do like the natural ones but also the new pale pink and pale blue colours.
Plain or Printed? – My issue is I like our products plain because I will print them at home. So, I guess printed as a whole, especially as I work with a lot of the printing processes, there are certain products that just look so good with certain styles of artwork on. We have a couple of watercolour painters that have their designs printed onto our products and printing them on the smart colour on a natural cushion cover, they just look amazing. So, I quite like it when you get lovely artwork like that, there’s just certain products that just lend themselves to it.
