School Printed Tea Towel Guide
Posted on: 25/05/2022, 08:00
Selling Tea-Towels with the children’s artwork printed on is a great way for a school or PTA to raise money. We love printing these designs at The Clever Baggers and we’re sure it is fun for the children too.
To make the design part of the tea-towel easier, here is a little guide in what you should do.
Self Portrait - Tea-Towels
Step 1
Decide which type of tea-towel you would like (see website for our full range of tea towels). Then before you get the kids drawing you will need to know the size each picture has to be in order to fit all the children into the print area. To help with this please see our size chart below.
Number of drawings per side | 40 | 84 | 104 | 135 | 170 | 240 | 350 |
Size of picture | 7cm | 5.5 cm | 4.5 cm | 4 cm | 3.5 cm | 3 cm | 2.5 cm |
x | x | x | x | x | x | x | |
7cm | 5.5 cm | 4.5 cm | 5 cm | 3.5 cm | 3 cm | 2.5 cm |
Remember: You may wish to include the school logo or name in the design in which case you will need to leave a space for this by reserving some of the drawing squares.
Step 2
Now provide each child with the appropriate size piece of paper & then it’s time to get them drawing!Tip: It is better if each child works with the same type of pen, this way each drawing will have equal impact. We recommend a good black fibre pen, preferably no less than 0.8mm in thickness. Pencil or crayon drawings will not reproduce well. No need to worry about the colour as we can change this for you.
If you have very young children, you could do handprints or even foot prints, although you may need to reduce the size of the prints on a computer or photocopier to fit them into the print area.
Step 3
Once each child has done their drawing the next step is to arrange them. The easiest way to do this would be to use a large sheet of paper and mark out a 68 x 38 cm rectangle, and start sticking down each of the children’s drawings. Then simply scan the design onto your computer. If you would prefer to send us in the individual pictures, then our graphic design team can arrange them for you but there will be an additional charge for this service. Please discuss this with your sales advisor.
Tip: If you don’t have any paper large enough, you could always tape a couple of pieces together and then mark out the print area.
Step 4
Then all you need to do is complete a quote request form on our website for your chosen tea towel. You can find a “How to” guide of completing a quote request form here: How To Submit a Quote. A proof of your artwork will be sent to you for your approval before the products are printed.
It is really that simple. We c an’t wait to see the little artist's creations for this year! Check out our White Tea-Towels below!
