Tea Towels

We may be Clever Baggers, but we're also textile printers specialising in the printing of kitchen textiles, notably tea towels and aprons

In the 'olden days' when spots were spots and acne was thought to be somewhere in London, tea towel and apron designs were printed onto cloth 'on the roll'. After printing, the cloth was cut and the apron or tea towel hemmed and finished. This was fine as long as you wanted a minimum quantity of 2,000 or so but not if you only wanted 100. Also the cost of origination was high so even 2,000 pieces became often prohibitively expensive.

So when we were developing our ideas for Clever Bags, we also applied similar logic and Clever thought to tea towels and aprons. By manufacturing these items in large quantities and then printing on them (called placement printing) we found that we could offer even small quantities of these products, printed with your own design or logo, remarkably quickly and, perhaps more importantly, at remarkably low prices.

Not a lot of people know that:

Linen is made from flax, a very hardy plant which grew in abundance in Ireland. Hence the commonly referred to phrase 'Irish Linen'. However most modern linen production comes from Eastern Europe or China.

'Linen Union' is a term which describes a mix of linen and cotton yarns. Traditionally this is around a 50/50 mix
