BRIEF SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES SCREENMAKERS & MACHINE PRINTERS

Responsible to: Louise

Main responsibilities :

•  Set up and print designs on printing machines for very best reproduction

•  To operate textile printing machine for printed bags and tea towels. Develop printing techniques to suit new designs and products.

•  Develop mechanical add-ons to machines and new squeegee and print stroke variations.

•  Devise efficient and cost saving methods.

•  Maintain printing machines and dryers in good working order.

•  Attend the machine constantly, making adjustments and checking colour levels to ensure that printing is high quality and consistent with standard.

•  Ensure optimum and steady throughput of work.

•  Clean off screens and ensure good recycling of screens.

•  Organize work load

•  Maintain a Safe working environment

•  To make accurate screens for printing.

•  Compare screen reproduction to required standard (crisp output, accurate positioning) and artwork details, ensure good colour balance. Develop screen making techniques to suit new designs.

•  Experiment with new materials. Devise efficient and cost saving methods.
